AI assistant connection and API (beta)
Connect an AI assistant like Claude or ChatGPT to your live Stocksmith data and ask in plain words: what's in stock, what a recipe uses, what you've bought. Or read the same numbers into the dashboard, spreadsheet or system you already run, without typing them in twice.
The AI assistant connection and API are in beta and read-only, for Business and Growth, trial accounts on those plans included. On Pro, Studio or Indie, change plan first. Already on Business or Growth? Connect your assistant.
You already ask an AI assistant about everything else. Now it can know your stock too. Once it's connected, it looks things up in your live Stocksmith account, so checking stock, a recipe or a purchase stops meaning a report, an export and a squint.
The AI assistant connection (beta) is read-only for every account that has it. Your assistant can look things up, and nothing it does changes your Stocksmith data.

The AI assistant connection (beta) and API access (beta) are on Business and Growth, trial accounts on those plans included, so you can try both on a free 14-day trial. Both are read-only.
On Pro, Studio or Indie, change plan first. The pricing page shows what else comes with Business and Growth.
In beta Primary user only
Setup is done by your account's primary user. If you're not the primary user, the connection is refused.
In your assistant's settings (Claude or ChatGPT, for example), add a new connector and point it at https://mcp.stocksmith.io/mcp.
Your assistant registers itself with Stocksmith and takes you to a sign-in and approval screen. Approve it, and you're connected.
Once you approve, the connection appears under Settings > Connected Apps. You can see when it connected and when it was last used, and revoke it at any time.
The full steps are in the help article Using the Stocksmith API.
Get your stock, recipes and purchases into the dashboard, spreadsheet or system you already use, without typing them in twice. The API reads the same data as the assistant, read-only, for your scripts, dashboards and other systems.
The primary user creates personal API keys in Settings > API Keys. The help articles Using the Stocksmith API and Do you have an API available? cover creating a key and what you can read.
The AI assistant connection and the API are in beta, and the beta has no promise: either can change while it runs.
Start with the two help articles above, or browse the Help Centre. Business and Growth customers can also contact support with questions about the AI assistant connection (beta) or the API (beta).
Start a free 14-day trial on the Business plan and try the AI assistant connection (beta) on your own stock. No credit card required.
