What is CRM and inventory management software?
-
CRM and inventory management software keeps your customer records and your stock in one system, so what a customer has bought and what you hold are never in different places. Stocksmith does this for businesses that make what they sell: each customer has a record with their details, notes and orders, sitting beside your materials, products and costs.
-
Is Stocksmith a CRM?
-
Yes, a CRM designed for your manufacturing workflow rather than a sales pipeline. Each customer has a record with contact details, notes and order history, kept in the same system as your stock and costs. On Studio plans and above you also get customer pricing tiers and two reports ranking customers by revenue and by order count. If you need deals, pipeline stages, a log of calls and emails, or follow-up reminders, a dedicated sales CRM is the better fit.
-
What can I keep on a customer record?
-
Each customer record holds a name, email, phone, website, address and notes, and lists every order recorded for that customer. On Studio plans and above you can also attach files to a customer and assign a pricing tier. You can export your contacts list to CSV whenever you need it somewhere else.
-
Can I see which customers bring in the most revenue?
-
Yes, on Studio plans and above. The Customers by Revenue report ranks your top customers by what they've spent, excluding tax, for any date range you choose. The Customers by Frequency report ranks them by the number of orders they've placed, so you can tell your biggest spenders from your most regular buyers.
-
Can I price wholesale and retail customers differently?
-
On Studio plans and above, yes. You set a price per product for each pricing tier and put each customer on a tier, and the orders you enter for them start from that tier's prices. Tiers also hold a markup, listing fee and commission, so you can see a suggested price and margin for each.
-
Can I keep suppliers in the same place as customers?
-
Yes. Contacts can be customers or vendors, so your suppliers sit in the same list as your customers. You can record purchases against a vendor and set a preferred vendor on a material, which keeps the people you buy from as easy to find as the people you sell to.
